The Floyd Mayweather Jr. Foundation along with Mayweather Promotions is proud to present the "Back to School Giveaway 2016". The Back to School Giveaway is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 20 th at the legendary Mayweather Boxing Club from 2pm-6pm. The event will feature school supply giveaways for grades K-12, raffled prizes, food and beverages, a live D.J. and lots more entertainment for local youth. In addition we will be raffling off hair services by licensed barbers and beauticians during the event. Students in grades 5-12 can bring their local library card for a chance to win a free laptop and printer. Along with assisting families who may be having a hard time obtaining the necessary school supplies for their children, the Back to School Giveaway will incorporate TFMJF’s Fight4Your Education Initiative. This initiative encourages youth development and focuses on strengthening the basis of education through literary and financial scholastic-based workshops, writing workshops, and book/supply drives to ensure the tools to be successful are at the disposal of families and their children. Character development and life skills education that highlights qualities such as honesty, responsibility, time management, self-awareness, good health, and communication are also cultivated through this initiative. With Nevada’s primary schools ranked 50 th in the nation in terms of "Chance for Success" according to Education Week, The Floyd Mayweather Jr. Foundation will continue to advance and promote its core principle of putting education first.
